\section{Accenti}
In \LaTeX\ le lettere accentate si scrivono con opportuni comandi:
\medskip

\begin{tabular}{|c|c|} \hline
Carattere & Comando \\ \hline
\`a  & \verb+\`a+   \\
\`e  & \verb+\`e+   \\
\'e  & \verb+\'e+   \\
\`o  & \verb+\`o+   \\
\`u  & \verb+\`u+   \\
\`\i & \verb+\`\i+  \\ \hline
\end{tabular}

\medskip
\noindent
Ovviamente quelli sopra sono solo (i principali) esempi. Se si
dovesse ad esempio scrivere ``\`w'' il comando da usare sarebbe:
\verb+\`w+. Si noti poi che ``\`\i'' si scrive in modo leggermente
differente: \verb+\`\i+. Se dopo dopo la ``\`\i''
c'\`e uno spazio, esso va esplicitato con il comando \verb*+\ +).

Se nel preambolo del file si inserisce l'istruzione: \\
\verb+\usepackage[latin1]{inputenc}+\\
allora si possono usare i caratteri accentati della tastiera
(ma con prudenza\dots).

\medskip
Altri caratteri speciali:

\medskip

\begin{tabular}{|c|c|} \hline
Carattere & Comando \\ \hline
\"o  & \verb+\"o+   \\
\~o  & \verb+\~o+   \\
\v{o}  & \verb+\v{o}+   \\
\c{o}  & \verb+\c{o}+   \\ \hline
\end{tabular}

\section{Formule matematiche}

$a_2^3$ & \verb9$a_2^3$9 \\
$a_{11} + b^{3y}$ & \verb9$a_{11} + b^{3y}$9 \\

\bigskip
Le precedenti formule potevano essere, equivalentemente, scritte
con:\\
\verb+\begin{math}+ (o \verb+\(+) al posto del primo \verb+$+ e
\verb+\end{math}+ (o \verb+\)+) al posto del secondo \verb+$+.
Se invece si racchiudevano tra \verb+\[+ e \verb+\]+ (o tra
\verb+\begin{displaymath}+ e \verb+\end{displaymath}+) venivano
scritte centrate nella pagina.

\bigskip
Di seguito saranno scritte varie formule e subito sotto sar\`a
riportato l'input.

Simboli di dimensione variabile:

\medskip
\begin{tabular}{|c|c||c|c|} \hline
simbolo & comando & simbolo & comando \\ \hline
$ \sum\quad {\displaystyle \sum}$ & \verb+\sum+
    & $\prod \quad{\displaystyle \prod}$ & \verb+\prod+ \\
$ \coprod\quad {\displaystyle \coprod}$ & \verb+\coprod+
    & $ \int\quad{\displaystyle \int}$ & \verb+\int+ \\

$ \bigoplus\quad {\displaystyle \bigoplus}$ & \verb+\bigoplus+
    & $ \bigodot\quad{\displaystyle \bigodot}$ & \verb+\bigodot+ \\ \hline
\end{tabular}

\bigskip
L'ultima tabella indica simboli che sono scritti in dimensione diversa,
a seconda se sono utilizzati in una formula che compare nel corso del
testo o in un ambiente come \verb+displaymath+. \\
Esempio: \\
nel testo la sommatoria $\sum_{i=1}^n i = \frac{n(n+1)}{2}$ \`e
scritta abbastanza piccola e non occupa molto spazio, mentre
in ambiente \verb+displaymath+ \`e decisamente diversa:
\[
\sum_{i=1}^n i = \frac{n(n+1)}{2}
\]
(si vede che anche la frazione viene scritta in modo diverso). \\
L'input in entrambi i casi \`e:
\begin{verbatim}
\sum_{i=1}^n i = \frac{n(n+1)}{2}
\end{verbatim}
solo che nel primo caso la formula \`e racchiusa tra \verb+\(+
e \verb+\)+, mentre nel secondo caso, tra \verb+\[+ e \verb+\]+.

\textbf{Funzioni elementari} Ecco alcune funzioni utili:

\bigskip

\noindent
\begin{tabular}{|llllll|}\hline
\verb+\arcos+ & \verb+\arcsin+ &  \verb+\arctan+ &
\verb+\cos+ &  \verb+\sin+ &  \verb+\tan+ \\
\verb+\cosh+ &  \verb+\sinh+ &  \verb+\tanh+ &
\verb+\exp+ &  \verb+\lg+ &  \verb+ln+ \\
\verb+\log+ &  \verb+\dim+ &  \verb+\det+ &
\verb+\max+ &  \verb+\min+ &  \verb+\limsup+ \\
\verb+\liminf+ &  \verb+\lim+ &  \verb+\gcd+ &
\verb+\lcm+ &  \verb+\hom+ &  \verb+\arg+ \\ \hline
\end{tabular}
\bigskip

\noindent
\textbf{Esempi:}

\bigskip
\noindent
\begin{tabular}{|c|c|} \hline
Formula & Scrittura \\ \hline
$\sin^2(\alpha) + \cos^2(\alpha) = 1$  &
\verb5\sin^2(\alpha)+\cos^2(\alpha) = 15 \\
$\gcd(a, b) = c$ & \verb+\gcd(a, b) = c+\\
$\lim_{n\rightarrow +\infty} n^2 = +\infty$ &
\verb7\lim_{n\rightarrow +\infty} n^2 = +\infty7\\ \hline
\end{tabular}
\bigskip

\noindent
Si noti che in ambiente \verb+displaymath+ \LaTeX\ scrive i
limiti in modo diverso:
\[
\lim_{n\rightarrow +\infty} n^2 = +\infty; \quad
\lim_{n\rightarrow +\infty} \left(1 + \frac{1}{n}\right)^n = e
\]
La precedene riga \`e ottenuta con:
\begin{verbatim}
\[
\lim_{n\rightarrow +\infty} n^2 = +\infty; \quad
\lim_{n\rightarrow +\infty} \left(1 + \frac{1}{n}\right)^n = e
\]
\end{verbatim}
(il comando \verb+\quad+ serve per lasciare un po' di spazio in orizzontale).
