About
The 24th edition of the Dobbiaco International Summer School will be held from June 8 to June 12, 2026.
This edition offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to state-of-the-art computational techniques in Optimization and Randomized Linear Algebra.
The program will focus on Interior Point Methods for linear and quadratic programming, highlighting practical, high-performance implementations based on advanced sparse matrix techniques. Participants will also explore Randomized Linear Algebra, with particular emphasis on randomized sketching methods. These cutting-edge tools are at the heart of today’s breakthroughs in data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and scientific computing.
We warmly invite graduate students and early-career researchers from around the world to take part in this Summer School. Join us to strengthen your expertise, engage with leading topics in the field, and connect with an international community of young researchers shaping the future of data-driven science.

The number of participants is limited to 50 people.
Registration will open on February 2026.
The final deadline for registration and payment of the conference fee is May 31, 2026. After this date it is not possible to register any more.
The deadline for early bird registration and payment of the conference fee is April 21, 2026.
The deadline for cancellations (due to serious impediments) with conference fee refund is May 31, 2026. After this date NO REFUND will be given. In any case, bank transfer expenses for refunds will be charged to the participant.
Participation fees for the Summer School:
1) Basic Fee (only registration costs, no accommodation): €265,00 (early bird), €365,00 (after April 21, 2026).
2) Basic Fee + accommodation in the guesthouse (single room, breakfast included): €265,00 + €460,00 = €725,00 (early bird), €365,00 + €460,00 = €825,00 (after April 21, 2026).
3) Basic Fee + accommodation in the guesthouse (double room, breakfast included): €265,00 + €325,00 = €590,00 (early bird), €365,00 + €325,00 = €690,00 (after April 21, 2026).
The basic fee must be paid to the University of Trieste, while the accommodation (single or double room) must be paid to the guesthouse.
Payment instructions for both basic fee and accommodation will be emailed to participants after registration. Basic fee must be paid to University of Trieste. Partecipants will be contacted by the guesthouse for the payment of the accommodation.
For double room accommodation, participants must provide the name of their companion. The companion can be another participant or an accompanying person. Accompanying persons are not required to pay registration fees and should contact the organizers directly to reserve their accommodation. They will receive the same rates as regular participants.
To register, please complete the application form at
Alternatively, you can select Registration from the main menu.
After registering, applicants will receive an email with instructions on how to proceed with the Basic fee payment. Once the payment is completed, they will appear as participants on the school website.
